Valerie is a child of the Universe who found her voice in paint and people. From her beginnings as a student at Exeter and as part of a dynamic family of creatives, Val has made her priority the organic observation of the human condition, both internally and externally. The “Works in Words” project started as an exercise in discovery and has come to be a form of meditative reflection and response to the state of being.

Her passion for literature and music are evident in rhythmic forms which manifest as a unison of color and spontaneity. Well traveled and well versed in the art of being human, Valerie incorporates elements of the conscious and subconscious in a style that engages the viewer as a participant in her explorations.

She lives in Maine where she raises eyebrows and a cat named Jupiter.
